Giving Back to the Community

At Icelandic Ponies, community impact is just as important as craftsmanship. Owner Danielle Martin believes in using her skills to make a difference, creating products that bring comfort, support, and a sense of care to those in need.

Did you know that 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime?

One of Icelandic Ponies' most meaningful initiatives is the Mastectomy Pillow Project—a donation-based effort providing soft, supportive pillows to breast cancer patients recovering from surgery. These handmade pillows are designed with care, featuring a pocket for an ice pack to help ease post-surgical discomfort.

Danielle launched this project after learning about the need at the Mon Health Cancer Center in Morgantown, WV. With community support, she has donated over 20 pillows to date, ensuring that patients feel cared for during one of the most challenging times in their lives.

"I've watched both my partner and my mother survive cancer treatment, and I know how difficult that journey can be—both physically and emotionally. My hope is that these pillows bring even a small sense of relief and remind patients that they are not alone."Danielle Martin, Founder

This project thrives on generosity. Donations help cover the cost of materials so that more patients can receive a pillow at no cost.

❤️ Donate $40 to fund materials for one pillow.

Looking Ahead

Icelandic Ponies is committed to evolving its community service efforts. While mastectomy pillows are the current focus, Danielle hopes to expand into new projects that address different community needs. As a small business, she believes in using her platform to uplift and support others—one handmade piece at a time.
